MINSK, 4 May (BelTA) – Enterprises may be set up in the China-Belarus industrial park Great Stone that will allow raising the localization of the Geely car assembly project up to 50%. Deputy Prime Minister of Belarus Vladimir Semashko made the statement after the plenary session of the Belarusian Industrial Forum on 4 May, BelTA has learned.
“It is necessary to get this level of localization by 1 July 2018 so that our cars could be freely moved across the Eurasian Economic Union. To make it happen, it is necessary to invite a number of companies, which will work on their own or in association with Belarusian companies to make automobile components. I will have to take a look at a program on localizing the assembly of Geely cars in late May. The program provides for setting up several dozens of enterprises, including Chinese and Korean ones. These enterprises are supposed to get preferential conditions in our park, start manufacturing and resolve the problem,” stressed Vladimir Semashko.
“The park has been created with a view to bringing state-of-the-art technologies and enterprises here, mainly the fifth and sixth technological paradigms. The new management will have to try and attract such companies. I think the process will start moving and will proceed just fine,” he added.
