MINSK, 26 October (BelTA) – Egypt would like to buy more machinery made by Minsk Tractor Works, including utilities vehicles and road building machines, the press service of the company told BelTA following a meeting between MTZ Director General Vitaly Vovk and Chairman of the Board of the Egyptian Company for Agricultural and Rural Development (ECARD) Dr. Mostafa Hadhoud. The meeting took place in Cairo.

“The parties discussed the implementation of the agreements reached at the highest-level talks in February this year. The Agricultural Bank of Egypt started issuing loans for farmers in September,  which will facilitate the purchase of Belarusian machines. Egypt confirmed its interest in buying more models of Belarus-made machinery, mostly utilities vehicles, road building machines and other equipment needed for performing construction works and keeping the capital city clean,” the press service said.

Top on the agenda of the talks was teaching Egyptian specialists to operate Belarusian equipment. The participants of the meeting agreed on an integrated approach: theoretical knowledge should be provided by higher educational institutions, while practical skills will be learned at maintenance centers which number is increasing.

The parties confirmed their determination to fulfill these tasks and deepen bilateral cooperation.
