Egypt eager to set up joint solid waste treatment plants with Belarus

CAIRO, 16 January (BelTA) – Egypt is eager to establish joint solid waste treatment plants with Belarus, Belarusian Antimonopoly Regulation and Trade Minister Vladimir Koltovich told reporters during the Belarus-Egypt business forum om 16 January, BelTA has learned.

“Egyptian businessmen and government are showing great interest in setting up solid waste treatment plants and importing Belarusian municipal vehicles and BelAZ vehicles for the development of natural resources deposits. We have a considerable interest in military and technical cooperation,” Vladimir Koltovich said.

He noted that the parties agreed to hold a session of the trade commission in Minsk in the near time to draw up a detailed roadmap for strengthening the cooperation.

Vladimir Koltovich explained that today, Egypt is not only an influential Arab country, but also a gateway to the economies of other Arab and African countries. “Once we use these logistical opportunities, we will be able to talk about entering the African continent,” he said.
