MINSK, 20 August (BelTA) – About a dozen Belarusian companies will take part in the Damascus International Fair due to take place on 6-15 September, Belarus’ Ambassador to Syria Alexander Ponomarev said in an interview with the Syrian Arab News Agency, BelTA has learned.
“Belarus will participate in this international fair for the second time. Last year we had a solid exposition there. In 2018 we are set to expand our presence at the expo. According to preliminary estimates, more than ten Belarusian companies will take part in the expo. They will represent a broad range of industries, including mechanical engineering, chemical industry, agribusiness, food industry, pharmaceutics and production of healthcare equipment,” the diplomat noted.
Alexander Ponomarev emphasized that the embassy provides comprehensive assistance to Belarusian companies trying to penetrate the Syrian market. “I am convinced that participation in this fair is a great opportunity for our companies to get exposure in Syria. I hope that the talks that will be held on the sidelines of the fair will result in signing important contracts,” the ambassador noted.
The Damascus International Fair has been held since 1954. This year it will mark its 60th anniversary.
