MINSK, 20 December (BelTA) – The demand for Belarusian electric buses has been growing abroad, Belarus’ Vice Minister Vladimir Semashko at the joint meeting of the House of Representatives and the Council of the Republic on 20 December, BelTA has learned.
According to the vice premier, Belarus has signed contracts to deliver electric buses to Russia and other countries. “We have large orders in the Russian Federation. Other countries have shown interest too,” Vladimir Semashko said.
Today, twenty electric buses serve two routes in the Belarusian capital. The project has helped reduce energy consumption by 14%. “This is the transport of the future,” the vice premier stressed. Plans have been made to add another 60 electric buses to the Minsk bus fleet in 2018.
