MINSK, 1 August (BelTA) – The Development Bank of the Republic of Belarus (DBRB) will represent Belarus’ interests in the capital of the pan-African bank Eastern and Southern African Trade and Development Bank (TDB). The relevant agreement was signed by DBRB Chairman of the Board Sergei Rumas and TDB President and CEO Admassu Tadesse, BelTA learned from the DBRB website.
The Development Bank of the Republic of Belarus took part in an annual meeting of TDB governors in Kampala, Uganda.
The safeguarding of Belarus’ interests in the capital of the Eastern and Southern African Trade and Development Bank will give Belarusian exporters an additional opportunity for penetrating African markets, including by means of the DBRB providing finance for exporting Belarusian products to African countries.
BelTA reported earlier that on 15 May 2018 the Development Bank of the Republic of Belarus signed a base credit agreement to open a $70 million credit line for the pan-African bank. TDB is expected to play a crucial role in financing the export of Belarusian products to African markets.
