MINSK, 12 March (BelTA) – There are plans to finish the construction of the multifunctional complex Minsk Lighthouse by 2017, BelTA learned from Neb Karich, Director General of the company Dana Mall, which is part of the group of companies Dana Holdings that is implementing the Minsk Lighthouse project.
“The readiness of the multifunctional complex Minsk Lighthouse with the area of 1 million m2 is now past 50%. The construction pace is well ahead of the projections. We plan to finish it by 2017,” said the executive.
The shopping center Dana Mall will open in October 2015. “It is a major outlet that needs special attention. Nothing like that has been built in Belarus yet,” noted Neb Karich. “Nevertheless, a team of international experts led by Gary Burrows guarantees that the mall will be opened in accordance with the declared concept.” By the way, the Dana Mall project was awarded as the best concept in Eastern Europe during the prestigious retail property expo MAPIC in Cannes, France.
While adhering to international standards and perceptions of clients in developed markets, the mall focuses on recreation and entertainment in order to enhance the overall satisfaction of the client, the expert explained. “It is a classic example of the shopping center built using the principle ‘If you build it, they will come’. I am glad to note that once Dana Mall opens, the international retail brands, which are not represented in Belarus, will come here,” pointed out Neb Karich.
Minsk Lighthouse is the first project in Belarus that has won international awards. It uses the concept “city within city”. Minsk Lighthouse has been recognized the best multifunctional complex in Eastern Europe. In the last few years it won European property awards, world finance awards, and the Golden Jaguar awards.
It is remarkable that the group of companies Dana Holdings is implementing a project similar to Minsk Lighthouse in Serbia. Named as Tesla City, the complex will occupy 2 million m2 and is designed to be the world’s most energy-effective implementation of the “city within city” principle. The holding company also has projects in Moscow and Baghdad, which are less recognizable. Apart from that, the possibility of implementing a project on the same scale in Havana is under consideration.
