MINSK, 27 February (BelTA) – The Energy Ministry has approved a concept of development of power-generating facilities and power grids for the period till 2030. The step is stipulated by Energy Ministry resolution No.7 of 25 February 2020, the ministry’s press service told BelTA.
The document is designed to implement Belarus’ energy security concept and describes the basic scenario for developing the united power grid. The authors of the document had analyzed the main trends of international energy industry and the implementation of the comprehensive plan on developing power engineering sphere till 2025 taking into account the commissioning of the Belarusian nuclear power plant.
Belarus’ power consumption is expected to rise to 43.7 billion kWh in 2025 and 47.2 billion kWh in 2030.
The level of heating energy output by energy sources of the national electric company Belenergo will remain constant and close to 34 million Gcal in the forecast period.
