MINSK, 4 October (BelTA) – The Belarusian mechanical engineering company OAO Bobruisk Plant of Tractor Parts and Units has opened a manufacturing division in Moldova to assemble compact tractors using the Belarus trademark, BelTA learned from representatives of the company’s Marketing and Advertising Department.
The project has been implemented by signing a sublicensing agreement on assembling the compact Belarus tractors in Moldova and the contract on selling 45 tractor assembly kits between Bobruisk Plant of Tractor Parts and Units and the Moldovan company Batstractor. The documents were signed during the Belarusian-Moldovan business forum arranged as part of the official visit of Prime Minister of Belarus Andrei Kobyakov to Moldova on 3 October. The assembling division will use premises of the Moldovan partner in Moldova’s Gagauzia Province.
The establishment of the compact tractor assembly enterprise resulted from the memorandum of cooperation signed by the Belarusian and Moldovan companies during the investment forum Gagauzinvest in November 2015.
Since early 2016 the Bobruisk-based company has shipped 16 tractors to Batstractor. They were sold to farmers in Gagauzia and consumers in other regions of the country. The jointly assembled Belarus tractors are supposed to be showcased during the international expo Moldagrotech 2016 that will take place in Chisinau on 19-22 October.
Bobruisk Plant of Tractor Parts and Units was established in 1945. It is now part of the industrial group MTZ Holding Company. The factory specializes in making components for Belarus tractors, disc plate wheels for tractors and agricultural machines, and compact tractors with 25-62hp engines. At present the company employs about 3,000 people.
