MINSK, 28 April (BelTA) – The Chinese company Zoomlion will put more efforts into setting up a manufacturing enterprise in the China-Belarus industrial park Great Stone. The information was released by the Public Relations Department of the Belarusian Economy Ministry after Economy Minister Vladimir Zinovsky met with Zoomlion’s top executives in China, BelTA has learned.
For the sake of further considering promising cooperation options an agreement was reached with the Zoomlion management on stepping up efforts to set up an enterprise to make sophisticated machines in the industrial park Great Stone. With this in mind Zoomlion founded the company OOO Zoomlion Bel-Rus in the industrial park in April 2015. Zoomlion is a major manufacturer of sophisticated equipment and machines and is one of the active resident companies in the China-Belarus industrial park Great Stone. “Transport infrastructure, informatization, and communications are the key avenues, along which we are ready to actively advance cooperation with China,” the press service quoted the Belarusian Economy Minister as saying.
Vladimir Zinovsky also spoke in positive terms about the successful implementation of the Zoomlion-MAZ joint project, which provides for making construction vehicles and utility vehicles. Apart from taking care of import substitution the project’s implementation will open up new promising markets for Belarus. For instance, a short while ago a Belarusian-Chinese crane with the lifting capacity of 60 tonnes was presented during the construction machinery expo Bauma 2016 in Munich, Germany.
A Belarusian delegation led by Economy Minister Vladimir Zinovsky is in China on a working visit. The purpose of the visit is to determine the main avenues of mutually beneficial cooperation between the two countries at the regional level and to discuss the possibility of implementing promising investment projects, including investment projects in the China-Belarus industrial park Great Stone. On 26-28 April the Belarusian Economy Minister met with representatives of the governments and the business circles of China’s Hunan Province, Anhui Province, and Shaanxi Province. Presentations were held to highlight the preferential terms and the opportunities available to resident companies and investors in the China-Belarus industrial park Great Stone.
While talking to representatives of the governments of the Chinese provinces, the Belarusian Economy Minister underlined the important role that regional cooperation plays in the advancement of Belarus-China trade and economic relations. The experience of Belarus’ regional cooperation with individual regions of China indicates that, provided the governments of the regions pay attention to the matter and the partners put consistent efforts into establishing and developing these ties, this kind of cooperation provides real benefits, contributes to more vigorous bilateral ties, first of all, the development of mutual trade and the emergence of new investment projects.
The Belarusian Economy Minister said he hopes that the governments of the Chinese provinces and representatives of the Chinese private sector will provide assistance with bolstering the existing interregional ties and establishing new ones. Vladimir Zinovsky noted that Belarusian government agencies will provide the necessary assistance in order to make this cooperation as effective as possible.
