GRODNO, 11 July (BelTA) – Chinese consumers are showing interest in products of the companies of Belarus’ Grodno Oblast, Chairman of the Grodno Oblast Executive Committee Vladimir Kravtsov said at a briefing meeting on 11 July, BelTA has learned.
A Grodno Oblast delegation headed by Vladimir Kravtsov visited China’s Gansu Province on 6-8 July. “We have seen that many of our companies have good prospects for bolstering their exports to China. Visitors to the expo in Lanzhou showed great interest in Bellakt products, new products of Biocom and enterprises manufacturing juices, glass, linen, starch and other goods. Our task is to work to expand our export portfolio and boost the exports to China,” Vladimir Kravtsov pointed out. He added that some companies have already shipped the first batches of goods to this country and started developing a distribution network in China. The Chairman of the Grodno Oblast Executive Committee said that plans for the future include setting up trade and exhibition centers in Lanzhou to consolidate and expand the presence of Grodno-based companies in China.
Vladimir Kravtsov also gave instructions to form a group to work with Chinese partners on the project to renovate Grodno Hotel. He noted that this is the first project in Grodno Oblast implemented entirely by a Chinese company. Negotiations are underway with Gansu partners over the possibility of joint projects in construction, production of construction materials, and other areas. The plans will be discussed with Gansu businessmen in detail at the multi-industry trade show Euroregion Neman to be held in Grodno in autumn 2016. A large Chinese delegation has plans to attend the trade fair.
The main goal of the recent visit to China was to strengthen bilateral ties between the two regions and attend the 22nd China Lanzhou Investment and Trade Fair. The expo showcased products by enterprises that have great prospects for increasing their supplies to China, including Bellakt, Biocom, the linen mill in Dyatlovo District, Lidapishchekontsentraty, Rogoznitsa Starch Plant, and Neman Glassworks.
