DUNHUANG, 19 September (BelTA) – The Chinese newspaper Renmin Ribao (People’s Daily) is opening a center for media cooperation as part of the Belt and Road initiative, Renmin Ribao President Yang Zhenwu said during a colorful symbolic ceremony to launch the center in Dunhuang, BelTA has learned.
Yang Zhenwu stressed that the project is designed to boost the cooperation between Chinese and foreign mass media. Renmin Ribao plans to take specific actions to promote media cooperation, including the publishing of a blue paper on Belt and Road media cooperation and establishing a cooperation union for Belt and Road regional cooperation.
Dunhuang is hosting the Media Cooperation Forum on Belt and Road which brought together more than 300 participants from 127 countries. The organizer of the event is Renmin Ribao. The forum features an important meeting of the world media, politicians and international experts. Belarus is represented by the Belarusian news agency BelTA, the publishing house Zvyazda and the Respublika newspaper.
