The opening ceremony was attended by Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Belarus to China Kirill Rudy. He stressed that Belarusian food products have made their way to China and this attests to the effectiveness of the joint use of the land transport corridors as part of the Silk Road economic belt. The deliveries were made by container trains shuttling between China and Europe.
The presentation was an important event for the Belarusian manufacturers whose products debuted in Hubei Province's largest supermarket chain.
Among them is the Savushkin Product dairy products. There are plans to widen the product range to include Belarusian alcohol, chocolate and candy.
Hubei Province is one of the most economically developed and densely populated in China. The population of the province is 59 million, that of the capital city of Wuhan 11 million. Recently, the province's annual GDP growth has averaged 8-9%.
The province maintains twinning relations with Brest Oblast. Deliveries of dairy products from Brest Oblast to the province were launched in 2017. The negotiations to set up a major logistics center in Brest Oblast by investors from Hubei Province are in their final stage.
