China supports Belarus in WTO accession

MINSK, 28 November (BelTA) – Belarus’ Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Andrei Dapkiunas met with China’s Ambassador to Belarus Cui Qiming on 27 November, BelTA has learned.

The parties discussed the restructuring of the World Trade Organization (WTO) and reaffirmed mutual support of the open multilateral trading system designed to provide a stable and predictable environment for international trade. The parties agreed that it is of great importance to ensure that the WTO follows the principle of equitable development and respect for the interests of developed and developing countries participating in the multilateral trading system. Cui Qiming assured China’s full support of Belarus in the negotiation process to join the WTO.

Andrei Dapkiunas and Cui Qiming considered the preparation of activities to take stock of Year of Tourism of Belarus in China, which are due to take place in Belarus on 21-24 December. The parties praised significant intensification of the Belarusian-Chinese interaction on tourism at the interregional level and the need for further measures to promote the expansion of tourist exchange between the two countries.
