Call to address current issues in common industrial policy in Union State

MINSK, 8 June (BelTA) – I hope Belarus and Russia will be able to settle the current issues in order to develop a common industrial policy in the Union State, Chairman of the Council of the Republic Mikhail Myasnikovich said at the plenary meeting of the 3rd Belarus-Russia Forum of Regions on 8 June, BelTA has learned.

Mikhail Myasnikovich stated that not long ago Russian President Vladimir Putin invited the member states of the Eurasian Economic Union to partake in Russian programs. “It is a very good and encouraging decision. I think it will be a solution to all those issues that restrain the Russian-Belarusian industrial cooperation and the development of the common industrial policy,” he said.

Yet, the barriers that hamper access of nonresidents to the national programs of the two countries remain. “We have a lot of integration agencies, but no equal rights for work in the common economic space. I believe that the Union State Permanent Committee will take a more active part in addressing these issues. We should do everything possible at the government level and at the local level to make the agreements and decisions of the Union State workcThe Speaker of the Council of the Republic stressed that Belarus and Russia should respond to external challenges together. “It is not a secret that global regional challenges our countries are facing have happened not through our fault. Today we are looking for the ways out from this complicated situation mainly independently. I am confident that we should consolidate our efforts,” he added.
