MINSK, 27 May (BelTA) – The rules of the game for foreign investors in Belarus should be stable and transparent, Belarusian First Deputy Prime Minister Vasily Matyushevsky said at a joint meeting of the two chambers of the Belarusian parliament on 27 May, BelTA has learned.
At the request of MP Vladislav Shchepov, the First Deputy Prime Minister commented on the results of the forum recently held in Vienna to attract EU investments to Belarus. “We had very positive and open discussions. We were hearing one another. I can say that the European Union and its businesses have a genuine interest in the Belarusian economy,” Vasily Matyushevsky noted.
“Now the ball is in our court. We should develop convenient, flexible and simple mechanisms for attracting investments to our country. However, the main thing is to establish such rules of the game that would be clear, transparent and long-standing. Then the interests of the EU and the Republic of Belarus will coincide,” Vasily Matyushevsky believes.
