MOGILEV, 21 May (BelTA) - Bykhov Vegetable Canning Factory sent the first batch of canned products to Tajikistan, the factory’s turnaround manager Alexander Morozov told BelTA.
“The arrangement to deliver our products to Tajikistan was reached during the Belarus National Expo in Dushanbe. We responded promptly to the requests of our partners and sent a consignment of canned green peas, corn and squash spread,” Alexander Morozov noted.
According to him, several contracts of sale were struck with business partners from Tajikistan during the expo. The quantities and assortment of canned products to be exported this year are being negotiated. “For us the season is just starting. The new harvest is yet to come in while last year’s is already running out. We have the intake of orders for several months ahead. We are actively working on new markets. This year we seek to increase the share of export in the total volume of sales to 60% from 40% last year. We hope to beat this target including thanks to the shipments of canned food to Tajikistan,” Alexander Morozov noted.
Every year the factory expands the geography with new countries and long-term contracts. For example, last year the factory started working with Australia by shipping tomatoes, supplied products to the United States, Canada, China and other countries. The company is actively exploring the markets in Israel, Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates and is gearing up to send the first batch of products to Libya.
Bykhov Vegetable Canning Factory was established by the decision of the Mogilev Oblast Executive Committee in 2001. In March 2006, by the decision of the president the factory was defined as the base enterprise to manufacture fruit and vegetable canned products in Mogilev Oblast.
