Brest to host economic forum of twin cities, partners in July

BREST, 27 April (BelTA) – Brest plans to host its first economic forum of twin cities and partners in July 2018, Brest First Vice Mayor Vadim Kravchuk told BelTA.

The event will mark the 999th anniversary of Brest. The economic forum will take place on 26-27 July. Taking part in it will be representatives of twin cities and also cities with which Brest maintains close cooperation.

“We are doing our best to make the city maximally attractive to business and tourists. The forthcoming forum will make its contribution as well. The program will be divided into social, tourist, economic, and construction blocks, and will also include presentations, visits to enterprises, the signing of contracts and cooperation agreements,” Vadim Kravchuk said.

Brest has so far concluded twinning agreements with 33 foreign cities, and maintains partner relations with 40 more. “We have sent forum invitations to all of them. Participation has already been confirmed by representatives of Poland, Germany, Russia and Georgia,” Vadim Kravchuk added. It is expected that representatives of approximately 20 countries will take part in the event.

The local authorities expect that the economic forum of Brest twin cities and partners will become a regular event.
