Brest Oblast hosts 1.6 million visitors in January-November 2023

MINSK, 6 December (BelTA) – In January-November 2023, Brest Oblast hosted 1.6 million visitors, Elena Kosmach, the head of tourism at the Sport and Tourism Department of the Brest Oblast Executive Committee, said at a press conference, BelTA has learned.

"Brest Oblast is an economically important region, one of the most popular tourist destinations of the country. Today, we see a positive momentum in the tourist flow. In 2022, we welcomed 1,500,000 visitors. According to operational data, in January-November 2023 the tourist numbers are already 1,600,000," Elena Kosmach said.

According to her, the local infrastructure makes it possible to host a large number of tourists and organize recreation from the premium class to quite budget options. "We have something to offer to different categories of tourists at any time of the year. We have a sufficient number of interesting tourist offers in a wide variety of formats. In recent years, we have mapped out more than 300 tourist routes in Brest Oblast, which include cultural, entertainment, gastronomic programs and introduce to iconic sights and objects of tourist infrastructure," the head of the department said.

Every year the region opens new tourist routes. In 2023, new 19 tourist routes were unveiled. "The most popular routes are the Belovezhskaya Pushcha National Park, the Brest Hero Fortress Memorial Complex, Kossovo Palace and Park, Ruzhany Palace of the Sapieha family. For example, Belovezhskaya Pushcha hosted more than 300,000 tourists in January-November 2023," Elena Kosmach added.
