BRASLAV, 17 August (BelTA) – The Braslav representation office will open in Beijing, China in October, BelTA learned from Chairman of the Braslav District Executive Committee Aleksandr Bodanin.
In his words, an agreement of intent to develop cooperation in education, economy, tourism and investment was signed with the company Chinese-European Culture Jinren in July 2019. “China has allocated an office for the Braslav representation in Beijing. It is expected that the office will start operating in October,” Aleksandr Bodanin said. By 1 October, a website will be launched to provide information about Braslav District, its tourism potential, investment proposals, available land plots, and other important information about this Belarusian region.
A group of Chinese teachers paid a visit to Braslav on 29 July-9 August to hold Chinese language training courses for local school students.
Aleksandr Bodanin hailed the first positive results of cooperation. “In the future our cooperation will help the fulfilment of the tourism and economic potential of Braslav District in China,” the head of the Braslav District Executive Committee said.
In 2018, the number of visitors to Braslav hotels, recuperation centers and farmsteads reached 26,000 (up 16% from 2017). Of them 5,600 tourists were foreigners. Festival tourism gathers more than 20,000 annually.
“The development of the tourism sector will not boost business in the region but will also contribute to the increase in retail trade and public catering sites, promote the export of services, employment and budget revenue,” Aleksandr Bodanin said.
