GOMEL, 16 November (BelTA) - The international industrial exhibition Metal-Expo 2020 in Moscow was a success for the public joint-stock company (OAO) BMZ, the Management Company of the holding company Belarusian Metallurgical Company (BMC). The company received several industry awards and reached agreements with Russian consumers for the supply of metal products in H1 2021, Aleksandr Olesik, the company's press secretary, told BelTA.
The parties held a number of meetings and negotiations as part of the exhibition. “They talked over the interest of Russian consumers in continuing cooperation with BMZ in 2021. The matter concerns sales of various types of rolled products, pipes and steelwire products,” said Aleksandr Olesik.
According to the company, the Russian market traditionally plays an important role in the structure of BMZ sales. According to operational data, over 245,000 tonnes of metal products were sold to Russia in January-October 2020. This is about 15% of the plant's total exports. This year, the plant has shipped 11 types of metal products to Russia. The key items are rebar, pipes, bronze-plated wire and metal cord. “Shipments of fittings in physical terms increased by more than a quarter year-on-year,” said the press secretary.
The plant also received several awards at the exhibition. The silver medal in the metallurgical companies' and research organizations' publications contest went to the English publication of the BMZ reference book-atlas “Defects of steel feed and metal products”. The plant’s newspaper Metallurg was named the prize winner of the contest “Best corporate media in the metallurgical industry in Russia and CIS countries 2020”.
“The organizers and participants of Metal-Expo 2020 also praised the stand of the Belarusian Steel Works, which was decorated using the works of artist Leonid Velichko - BMZ labor veteran. The plant was awarded with the Best Exposition Cup and the diploma “For highly professional organization of product and service promotion,” said Aleksandr Olesik.
The Metal-Expo exhibition is a traditional expo that unites suppliers and consumers of metal products from different countries. In 2020 the forum gathered 300 companies of metallurgical sector and related industries. About 1,000 specialists worked at the stands. On 10-13 November the exhibition was visited by 7,000 people.
