MINSK, 12 September (BelTA) – Experts of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) are talking about the training of personnel for the Belarusian nuclear power plant during a seminar taking place in Minsk from 11 to 15 September, BelTA learned from the Information and Public Relations Department of the state enterprise Belarusian Nuclear Power Plant.
The IAEA representatives are giving a seminar dedicated to license requirements and the certification of the BelNPP staff (operation, repair, management). Attending the seminar are leading experts from Ukraine, Russia, Germany, and Slovakia, and also representatives of the Nuclear Energy Department of the Belarusian Energy Ministry, the Belarusian nuclear power plant operating enterprise, and other organizations concerned.
The participants are considering the training of the BelNPP personnel and regulations on nuclear energy use.
A report will be presented to highlight the best European practices in licensing nuclear power plant personnel and the IAEA’s role in the matter. The IAEA experts are also expected to discuss compliance with requirements for obtaining nuclear use licenses.
