Bellesbumprom’s export to non-CIS countries up 7.6% in January-September

MINSK, 10 November (BelTA) – The export of enterprises of the Belarusian forestry industry concern Bellesbumprom to non-CIS countries soared by 7.6% in January-September 2020 as against the same period of the previous year, BelTA learned from the press service of Bellesbumprom.

Bellesbumprom enterprises exported $217.4 million worth of products (up $15.4 million from January-September 2019) to distant countries.

The share of export to distant countries increased. In January-September 2020 the export to distant countries accounted for 50.3% of the total and increased by 2.8% as against the same period of 2019.

Poland was a major export destination and accounted for 28.8% of the total. China accounted for 22.2%, Lithuania – for 13.3%. Belarusian forestry industry enterprises exported products to 56 countries, including Austria, Germany, Italy, the United Kingdom, France, Iran, Turkey, the United Arab Emirates, Canada, Mexico, Sri Lanka.

Major exports to distant countries were pulp (25.8% of the total), plywood (18.2%) and furniture (14.2%). Belarusian enterprises also exported a wide range of fiber boards, paper, cardboard, tapestry, doors, windows, engineering structures, wooden houses, forestry chemistry products, timber and fuel wood.

In January-September 2020 Belarusian forestry industry enterprises exported $431.8 million worth of products (up 1.4% from the same period of the previous year). Products were delivered to 66 countries.
