MINSK, 13 July (BelTA) – Mosgortrans, an operator of ground urban transport in Moscow, has put a Belkommunmash trolleybus with a diesel electric engine into passenger service, BelTA learned from the press service of Mosgortrans.
The trolleybus is humming along the T25 route. It runs as an ordinary trolleybus from Budennogo Avenue to Sadovoye Koltso and switches into the diesel mode when going from Maroseika and Pokrovka Streets to Lubyanskaya Square.
“The trolleybus has low floor to make it easier for passengers to board and alight. The cabin has no turnstiles; access is allowed through all doors. Ticket validators are installed near each door,” Modgortrans press service said.
As BelTA reported earlier, Mosgortrans is testing Model 43303A developed by Belkommunmash engineers which can operate in either electric or diesel mode.
The trolleybus can speed up to 60km/h. The body length is over 18 meters. It has 38 seats and can carry over 150 passengers. The operation in the testing mode will last till the end of the year.
