MINSK, 11 August (BelTA) – Companies of the Belarusian state food industry concern Belgospishcheprom expanded the geography of exports by 18 countries in H1 2020, Anatoly Buben, chairman of the Belarusian state food industry concern Belgospishcheprom, said at a meeting hosted by the head of state on 11 August to discuss the development of the country's food industry, BelTA has learned.
“In January-June 2020 Belgospishcheprom met all the indicators of efficiency across its companies. The export growth made 5%. In H1 2020 Belgospishcheprom started exports to 18 countries. The concern sells to a total of 58 states. Work is underway to set up a trading representation in China,” the Belgospishcheprom chairman said.
An agreement has been reached to supply Belarusian sugar to China. The first batch of 10,000 tonnes of sugar will be shipped soon. “There is a contract for another 10,000 tonnes,” Anatoly Buben said. In his words, there are no problems with sugar sales.
He stressed that all the above confirms that the head of state's decision not to introduce quarantine measures amid the pandemic was the right one.
