MINSK, 20 March (BelTA) – The car assembly plant BelGee intends to launch the production of executive-class sedans in the second half of 2019, Belarusian First Deputy Industry Minister, BelGee Acting Director General Gennady Svidersky said at a press conference on 20 March, BelTA has learned.
“We are working on new modifications of the car. This is an executive-class sedan which belongs to the new Geely Emgrand GT generation. In the second half of 2019, we intend to produce 100 cars and see what the demand is,” Gennady Svidersky said.
BelGee has already produced 11,200 cars of three models: Geely Atlas, Geely Еmgrand X7, and Geely Еmgrand 7. All in all, there are 27 car modifications available in seven colors. “In February, we rolled out the new Atlas 1.8 Turbo which enjoys high demand. That is why we hope its sales will boost in 2019,” the acting director added.
Over a half of the cars has been exported to Russia where 50 dealer centers has been opened. BelGee is working towards expanding into new markets. “We have held talks with partners from Lithuania, Ukraine, Poland, Moldova, Serbia. They have confirmed that our cars comply with all the requirements and that their technical characteristics satisfy the needs of customers in these countries,” Gennady Svidersky noted.
