MINSK, 24 January (BelTA) - The Belarusian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (BelCCI) has introduced a format, namely road shows, with an aim to help exporters get better prepared for participation in Belarus national expositions abroad, BelTA learned from the BelCCI.
The new business format presupposes careful study of the profile of an exhibition and a detailed analysis of the market of the host country. “Having analyzed the geography and themes of national expositions over the past ten years, we have decided to introduce a new practice with an emphasis on the analysis of specific niches for domestic products, the market and competitors on that market, and individual plans of negotiations with potential partners,” the BelCCI said.
The first event was a seminar on agrofood Nigeria, an international trade fair for agriculture, food and food technology in Nigeria, where Belarus will run its exposition on 26-28 March. The seminar which was attended by representatives of about 20 Belarusian exporting enterprises discussed practical aspects of trade and economic cooperation between Belarus and Nigeria, the prospects for building up Belarusian exports to the African market, and the preparation of a national exposition.
Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Belarus to Nigeria Vyacheslav Brill noted that food and agricultural machines are in demand on that market. “Nigeria is actively developing its agriculture industry, setting up large farm complexes that are interested in buying Belarusian machinery. Given the high population growth, Nigeria needs ever-greater amount of food: wheat, sugar, frozen fish, dry milk. Belarus currently does not supply food to Nigeria and thus should tap into that market,” the diplomat said.
In 2019 Belarus plans to arrange national expositions in nine countries: Nigeria, Argentina, Indonesia, Kenya, China, Latvia, UAE, Pakistan and the Republic of Korea.
