MINSK, 28 January (BelTA) – BelAZ will supply 40 dump trucks to Indonesia in 2016, Chairman of the Council of the Republic Mikhail Myasnikovich said as he met with Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Indonesia to Belarus Djauhari Oratmangun, BelTA has learned.
"We are pleased to have learned the news that BelAZ won a tender to supply 40 110-tonne dump truck to Indonesia. Now the contract is being formalized,” said Mikhail Myasnikovich.
According to him, the Belarusian manufacturer is also negotiating the opening of an outsourcing company to provide quarry mining services in Indonesia. "I think that the negotiations between Minsk Automobile Plant (MAZ trademark) and Indonesian companies to set up a joint venture to assemble MAZ trucks will be successful," Mikhail Myasnikovich added.
He took note of the positive development of trade, economic, scientific, and parliamentary cooperation with Indonesia and expressed confidence that the two countries have great prospects for bolstering ties. "We have a number of joint projects; the centers of Indonesia and Belarus are engaged in joint research. I would like you to convey Belarus’ wishes for the speedy completion of the procedures regarding cooperation in education. We have not coordinated the final documents yet, but the cooperation between our universities is active,” Mikhail Myasnikovich noted.
