MINSK, 4 September (BelTA) – The Belarusian automobile engineering company BelAZ has shipped five haul trucks BelAZ-75131 with the carrying capacity of 130 tonnes to Ukraine’s ArcelorMittal Krivoy Rog and, thus, fulfilled the terms of the contract, signed during the Ukrainian-Belarusian business forum in Kiev in late July 2017, ahead of schedule, BelTA learned from the company.
Specialists of Krivbass-BelAZ-Service JV are currently completing the assembling of the vehicles. Soon, the 130t haul trucks will be put into operation at ArcelorMittal Krivoy Rog. The company has already being using more than 80 BelAZ vehicles.
BelAZ Director General Piotr Parkhomchik stressed that apart from Ukraine the international company ArcelorMittal holds its assets in the United States, Canada, and Mexico. “We see our chances to access the North-American market in this company, and the first steps have already been made,” he noted.
Ukraine uses more than 2,000 BelAZ haul trucks, which accounts for over 90% of the haul truck fleet in the country. The biggest capacity of haul trucks in Ukraine is 220 tonnes. It is BelAZ-75306 that operates at the Inhuletsk ore mining plant.
