Belavia to buy three new aircraft

MINSK, 5 November (BelTA) – The three new aircraft Belavia plans to buy in 2016 will be maximally safe, Director General of the Belarusian air company Belavia Anatoly Gusarov said in an interview to the ONT TV channel.

Today the Belavia fleet is mainly represented by Boeings. Three new aircraft of the same brand will be shipped to Belarus from a plant in the United States. By the time the new jets arrive in the country, the company will make its major rebranding and change its signature colors. Belavia puts a special emphasis on the maximum security of its passengers and their comfort.

New aircraft will operate regular and charter flights. Belavia has recently launched a new flight to Odessa. In December the company will start operating flights to Kharkov. They are expected to be daily flights.

Belavia is Belarus' biggest air carrier, including in cargo transportation. In late January 2014 it acquired a juridical status of an open joint stock company. Belavia operates 27 aircraft. It offers regular flights to 46 destinations in 28 countries of Europe, Asia and the CIS. In 1997 Belavia joined the International Air Transport Association (IATA), in 2010 – the European Regions Airline Association (ERAA). In January-August 2015, the company’s passenger traffic went up by 5% from the same period last year.
