MINSK, 23 February (BelTA) – The Belarusian air carrier Belavia and the multinational company Scandinavian Airlines System concluded a multilateral interline traffic agreement. It came into effect on 22 February, BelTA learned from the Belavia press service.
The agreement on the mutual recognition of transportation documentation gives a company the right to use its own printed forms while organizing transfers via the routes of the partner company. The Belavia press service explained that today passengers have some additional opportunities. For example, now they can buy one ticket for the whole route. “They can also choose the most convenient flights when travelling via the airports of Helsinki, Stockholm, Riga, and Vilnius,” the Belavia company noted.
At the moment, the participants of the agreement are testing the sales, the through rate, and the system of electronic ticketing. The development and implementation of through rates are currently underway.
Belavia is the largest air carrier in Belarus by the number of passengers and cargoes it transports. In late January 2014 Belavia acquired a juridical status of an open joint stock company.
