Belavia launches direct flight to Chisinau

MINSK, 10 October (BelTA) – Tickets for the new Minsk-Chisinau-Minsk flight went on sale on 10 October, BelTA learned from Belavia’s press service.

Regular flights to Chisinau International Airport will be launched on 30 October 2018.

Belavia will operate the flight five times a week. Departure from Minsk is at 13:00 on Tuesdays,Thursdays and Sundays and at 8:00 on Mondays and Fridays. The return flight will depart at 14:05 on Tuesdays, Thursdays, Sundays and at 9:05 on Mondays, Fridays. Arrival in Minsk is 16:30 and 11:30 respectively. The schedule is based on local time.

The travel time is about an hour and a half. A one-way ticket costs €83, a return ticket €153. The flight will be operated using Embraer-175 aircraft (64 economy-class and 12 business-class seats).

"Belarus is one of the ten major economic partners of Moldova. We hope that the direct flight will help foster closer business contacts between the two countries, increase transit flows and establish Minsk National Airport as an international hub,” Belavia Director General Anatoly Gusarov said.

Chisinau has become the 51st regular destination of Belavia. Moldova is the 28th country on the company’s route map.

Belavia is Belarus’ top air carrier. Based in Minsk National Airport, it offers regular flights to 51 destinations in 28 countries. The company operates a fleet of 29 aircraft (five Boeing 737-500 jets, six Boeing 737-500 jets, seven Boeing 737-300 jets, three Embraer 175 aircraft, four Embraer 195 aircraft, and four CRJ-100/-200 jets).
