MINSK, 28 November (BelTA) – Belarusian Deputy Prime Minister Piotr Parkhomchik outlined promising areas of cooperation with Venezuela during the plenary session of the Belarusian-Venezuelan joint commission on trade and economic cooperation in Minsk on 28 November, BelTA has learned.
“Taking into account the preparatory work carried out by the parties, the agenda of this meeting includes the most pressing issues, which need our decisions as soon as possible. The first one is to resume assembly plants of Belarusian machinery in Venezuela. The second one is revitalize projects in the construction sector. The third is to discuss options for cooperation in the forestry and woodworking industries. The fourth is to consider opportunities for joint projects in the mining industry. The fifth one is to develop cooperation between the parties in agriculture and food supplies. The sixth one is to develop cooperation in petrochemicals and fertilizer supplies. The seventh is develop cooperation in air and sea transportation. The eighth one is to strengthen cooperation in education, healthcare, science and technology, as well as cooperation in tourism,” Piotr Parkhomchik said.
According to him, each of the listed items is important for bilateral cooperation. “I expect that all of them will be discussed in detail by the parties within the framework of the meeting of the relevant working groups and specific agreements will be reached in each of the listed areas, which will be included both in the final minutes of the meeting of the joint commission and in the documents to be signed following the meeting of the working sections,” the deputy prime minister emphasized.
