QINGDAO, 8 June (BelTA) – The Belarusian-British joint venture Unison and the Chinese company Zotye International Automobile Trading signed a $560 million agreement on starting the production of electric cars in Belarus in Qingdao, China on 8 June, BelTA has learned.
The document provides for assembling 30,000 Zotye electric cars in Belarus by 2022 with a high degree of localization. The cars will then be sold exclusively in the Commonwealth of Independent States.
Lada OMS Group and China Sinopharm International Corporation signed an agreement on cooperation in the sphere of medical equipment in Qingdao on 8 June, too. The total value of the projects stands at $94 million.
The Belarusian companies signed commercial contracts with Chinese partners as part of the visit of Belarus President Alexander Lukashenko to Qingdao. Belarusian Economy Minister Vladimir Zinovsky, Minister of Foreign Affairs Vladimir Makei, Finance Minister Vladimir Amarin, and Ambassador of Belarus to China Kirill Rudy were present during the event.
