MINSK, 9 April (BelTA) - Belarusian tractors are in demand with large and small farms of Chuvashia, head of the Chuvash Republic of Russia Mikhail Ignatiev told reporters on 9 April, BelTA has learned.
Mikhail Ignatiev stressed that Chuvashia supports large and medium-sized agricultural enterprises, private farms. “New modifications of tractors are popular with small enterprises. Production standards are changing; manual labor is replaced by machines. There are good prospects for developing cooperation in the technical and technological retooling of farms and agricultural production,” the head of Chuvashia said.
Belarus-Chuvashia trade increased 2.5 times over the past three years. In 2013 it made up $102.3 million. There was a slight reduction in 2014. “But in the future we must double or triple the trade turnover in order create mutually beneficial conditions for our businessmen, create highly-productive well-paid jobs,” Mikhail Ignatiev said.
There are preconditions for it. Chuvashia is interested in developing relations with Belarus not only in the delivery of equipment but also in the manufacturing industry and science, especially agricultural science. The head of Chuvashia expressed confidence that the visit will give an additional impetus to the development of mutually beneficial cooperation.
