MINSK, 29 November (BelTA) – Belarusian surgeons will perform a liver transplant on a child in Kazakhstan, Belarusian Healthcare Minister Valery Malashko told the media on 29 November, BelTA informs.
Oleg Rummo, Head of the National Research Center for Organ and Tissue Transplantation, will leave for Kazakhstan in a few days’ time to perform a surgery on a one-year-old baby. The child will get a liver transplant from the father. The surgery will become a master class by Belarusian specialists for their Kazakhstan’s colleagues.
Organ transplantation is the most vivid example of Belarus-Kazakhstan cooperation in healthcare. A six-member group of Kazakh doctors has recently arrived in Belarus. They are set to hone up their professional skills in the Center for Organ and Tissue Transplantation.
In general, both countries’ healthcare systems have built a strong bridge of interaction, Valery Malashko said. The cooperation has been developing rapidly. Kazakhstan chose to model its mother and child care on the Belarusian system.
