MINSK, 4 March (BelTA) – The National Agency of Investment and Privatization (NAIP) of Belarus has become a member of the World Association of Investment Promotion Agencies (WAIPA), the agency’s representatives told BelTA.
The WAIPA membership will allow the NAIP to increase trust of foreign companies, improve the country’s investment climate, and will give access to WAIPA’s publications and researches, which can be used as guidelines for attracting foreign investors.
WAIPA was established under the aegis of the United Nations Conference on Trade and Development (UNCTAD) in 1995 with a view to establishing contacts and advancing cooperation, sharing the best practices and information in the sphere of foreign direct investments between investment agencies. At present WAIPA unites 177 investment agencies from 130 countries. The association is headquartered in Geneva and Istanbul.
