Belarusian specialists build four apartment houses in Venezuelan Caracas

MINSK, 10 November (BelTA) – Belarusian specialists have built four apartment houses in Caracas, Venezuela, representatives of the embassy of Belarus in Venezuela told BelTA.

The ceremony to hand over 240 apartments in the four houses to their new residents took place on 9 November. Belarusian Architecture and Construction Minister Anatoly Cherny, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Belarus to Venezuela Oleg Paferov, and Director General of the Belarusian civil engineering company, which specializes in overseas projects, ZAO Belzarubezhstroy Vitaly Bondarik took part in the ceremony.

The Belarusian delegation also inspected Belzarubezhstroy’s civil engineering project in Maracay, Aragua State where a commemorative plaque was unveiled to mark the completion of the second phase of the work to build public welfare homes and infrastructure. A tour of the children daycare center, a school, and a lyceum where Belarusian specialists have nearly done finishing work produced positive impressions and favorable responses on the part of Venezuelan Public Works and Housing Minister Manuel Quevedo and Aragua State Governor Rodolfo Marco Torres.

Apart from that, the joint delegation visited a fire station, an outpatient department, and a police station where finishing work was nearing completion, too. Built by Belarusian specialists, these infrastructure facilities will be commissioned soon.

The Belarusian delegation’s visit was organized as part of the work to implement the arrangements secured during the visit of Venezuela President Nicolas Maduro to Belarus. Negotiations were held to discuss results of cooperation in building public welfare homes in Venezuela in 2017. The sides agreed this cooperation was productive and confirmed their mutual interest in continuing it in 2018.

Belarus and Venezuela intend to bolster cooperation in building public welfare homes in Venezuela. The two sides will consider the possibility of getting Belarusian specialists involved in industrial construction projects. The relevant part of the roadmap on advancing bilateral cooperation was agreed as part of the Belarusian architecture and construction minister’s visit to Venezuela. The document is being prepared for signing. The sides also discussed the matters that will be on the agenda of the session of the Belarusian-Venezuelan intergovernmental commission, which is scheduled to take place in late November 2017.
