Belarusian regions encouraged to learn from Minsk’s experience in pilot investment projects

 MINSK, 7 July (BelTA) – The Belarusian regions should explore the experience of Belarus’ capital in carrying out pilot investment projects, Deputy Prime Minister of Belarus Anatoly Kalinin told the media during a seminar on the implementation of innovative technologies in construction sector on 7 July, BelTA has learned.

The participants of the event got familiarized with the reconstruction of Dinamo Stadium, visited a swimming pool in Brilevichi residential area, the Magister residential compound, and an extreme sports park. They also attended an exhibition of new technologies in construction.

According to Anatoly Kalinin, Belarus’ construction sector has been developing rapidly in accordance with global trends. When visiting the construction site at Dinamo Stadium he noted that the solutions adopted under this project will be applied at the construction of a national stadium, too. He specified that a light and strong aluminum shed will be built to cover some 75% of the stadium’s 20,000 seats. The facility is also designed to feature unique light poles with more than 400 LED lights. The reconstruction project envisages that the historical part of the stadium will be preserved. In 2019 Dinamo will host the opening and closing ceremonies of the second European Games along with various sports competitions. The facility will be multifunctional when commissioned.

Anatoly Kalinin underlined that the experience of Minsk in constructing standard swimming pools is important, too. He stressed it is essential to develop the sports infrastructure throughout the country.

The deputy prime minister also called for intensifying the practical assimilation of new construction technologies. This will help reduce the expenses, speed up construction projects, and boost the exports of Belarus’ construction companies. “Belarus’ construction sector stays up to date. We manage to find solutions that enable us to build facilities as efficiently commission but in a cost-effective way,” he added.
