Belarusian R&D to go on display in Saudi Arabia

MINSK, 4 September (BelTA) –Belarus’ R&D solutions will go on display in the King Abdulaziz City for Science and Technology (KACST) in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia on 23-24 October, BelTA has learned from the website of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus.

With an area of 300m² the exhibition will feature about 200 recent developments from about 30 organizations of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus, the Education Ministry, the Industry Ministry and other agencies. The developments in information and communications technologies, unique industrial technologies to produce new materials, medical goods and bio- and nanotechnologies will be demonstrated in the form of full-scales samples, multimedia presentations and information materials.

The joint Belarus-Saudi academic symposium featuring leading scientists of the two countries and the heads of the KACST will take place during the exhibition. The meetings are expected to result in new cooperation agreements and contracts.

The exhibition has been organized by the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus in accordance with the plan of events for the 2017 Year of Science. The cooperation between the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus and the academic institutions of Saudi Arabia is based on the agreement on cooperation between the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus and the King Abdulaziz City for Science and Technology.

The King Abdulaziz City for Science and Technology (KACST) is Saudi Arabia’s national science agency and home to its advanced laboratories. To help achieve the Kingdom’s shift towards a knowledge-based economy, KACST is promoting the development and investment in the national system of science, technology and innovation, by orienting research outputs towards industrial diversification.
