MINSK, 15 February (BelTA) – The Belarusian company MZKT will present a new armored personnel carrier MZKT-490101 at the 2021 International Defense Exhibition & Conference (IDEX 2021) in Abu Dhabi. The vehicle has been made to orders of foreign customers, the press service of the State Authority for Military Industry of Belarus told BelTA.
The vehicle can carry five people and is designed to protect them from small-arms fire and explosive devices. The APC offers optimal reliability and protection from threats in a combat zone. The chassis is designed to operate in the most complicated conditions, the source assured.
The vehicle MZKT will showcase at IDEX 2021 will be fitted with an automated remotely controlled observation and fire complex ADUNOK. The complex was designed by the Belarusian company KB Display.
The APC is powered by a six-liter 270hp Doosan DL06 engine and a six-speed automatic gearbox from Allison. The engine compartment is fitted with automatic fire extinguishers. The vehicle uses a modular design and a four-door all-welded body made of armored steel.
The vehicle MKZT will display is fitted with a set of modular armor plates for better protection against firearms and mines. The level of protection can be tuned by adding or removing armor plates.
MZKT-490101 APCs with various kinds of detachable equipment are used by the Belarusian Defense Ministry, the Internal Affairs Ministry, and the State Border Committee of Belarus. This family of vehicles has been in use since 2016. Now the upgraded new-generation MZKT-490101 APC will be presented before foreign markets, the press service of the State Authority for Military Industry of Belarus said.
