MINSK, 13 March (BelTA) – The Belarusian tractor manufacturer MTZ intends to sell more tractors to North America in the next few years. MTZ Director General Fyodor Domotenko made the relevant statement as he met with a delegation of dealers from Canada and the USA, BelTA has learned.
MTZ started exploring North America in the 1970s. The company used to sell thousands of vehicles on this market every year. The Belarusian company has shipped a total of over 50,000 MTZ tractors to Canada and the USA since then. “We intend to double or triple the deliveries within the next few years,” said Fyodor Domotenko. He thanked the American partners for loyalty towards the Belarusian tractor and its manufacturer.
The delegation went on a tour of the company’s assembly lines and was made familiar with the current product lineup. The guests were also interested in the Belarusian tractor with an electromechanical transmission.
Following a preliminary agreement the next day OAO MTZ and MTZ Equipment Ltd, which is the exclusive distributor of MTZ tractors in the USA and Canada, will sign a contract on delivering Belarusian agricultural machines to North America in 2018.
Belarusian Deputy Industry Minister Alexander Ogorodnikov and MTZ Acting Deputy Director General for Marketing Yuri Pototurko also took part in the meeting with the dealers from Canada and the USA.
