MINSK, 14 April (BelTA) – The Belarusian automaker MAZ intends to double sales of automobiles in Yaroslavl Oblast, Russia in 2018, BelTA has learned.
A Yaroslavl Oblast delegation led by Governor Dmitry Mironov visited MAZ the other day. The delegation went on a tour of the company’s product choice exhibition. The meeting ended with negotiations. The Russian region is interested in Belarusian automobiles. In 2018 MAZ’s sales in Yaroslavl Oblast are expected to double. The company intends to ship about 100 trucks in addition to other products.
The Yaroslavl Oblast governor personally tested MAZ vehicles. During the tour of the company he drove the prime mover MAZ 5440S9 and went to try the low-floor urban MAZ 203015. “The vehicles are very convenient. A modern ergonomic workstation with a wide view. Everything is very comfortable and convenient. It applies both to the truck and the bus,” said the governor afterwards.
At present engines made by Yaroslavl Engine Plant are installed in over 60% of the trucks MAZ makes. Most of them are sold in Russia.
