MINSK, 21 February (BelTA) - The manufacturing sector and agricultural industry posted good growth pace in January 2024, Belarusian Prime Minister Roman Golovchenko said at a meeting of the Council of Ministers to discuss the country’s social and economic development in 2023, BelTA has learned.
"We already have data for January 2024. The gross domestic product was up by 2.8%. Good growth has been posted by the manufacturing sector of 5.4% and agriculture - 4.3%," Roman Golovchenko said.
According to him, fixed-capital investments rose by 3.3%. The level of consumer activity remains high. "Retail was up by almost 10%, with the inflation running at 0.8%," the prime minister said.
