Belarusian Industry Ministry enterprises sign over $250m worth of contracts at Innoprom 2023 expo

MINSK, 19 July (BelTA) – Enterprises run by the Belarusian Industry Ministry signed over $250 million worth of contracts at the Innoprom 2023 expo. Belarusian First Deputy Industry Minister Aleksandr Ogorodnikov mentioned the figure during a press conference held in BelTA’s press center to sum up results of Belarus’ participation in the international industrial expo Innoprom 2023.

Aleksandr Ogorodnikov stressed: “As a partner country we’ve managed to surprise not only Russians, who are the original organizers of the expo, but many other participants, who came to see our booths. Our stands occupied a rather large area and were informative both for specialists and ordinary visitors.”

In his words, 45 enterprises belonging to the Belarusian Industry Ministry system were represented at Innoprom 2023. The national exposition presented a stand dedicated to industrial manufacturing and manufacturing cooperation. As many as 21 full-scale samples of products made by MAZ, Amkodor, Gomselmash, BKM Holding, and MTZ were showcased.

Products made by Mogilevliftmash, Minsk Electrotechnical Plant named after V.I. Kozlov, MMZ, BMZ, Integral, Minsk Motor Plant, BATE, and other ones were also demonstrated.

Apart from that, a combined stand of machine-tool enterprises was organized for the first time: 17 machine-tools manufacturers demonstrated 13 full-size machine tools.

Innoprom 2023 also featured an individual stand dedicated to the Belarusian heavy truck manufacturer BelAZ. It showcased dummy models of dump trucks with a large share of Belarusian-Russian integration components.

As part of the expo’s business program the Belarusian delegation held a series of meetings and negotiations with heads of a number of regions and major enterprises of Russia. Belarusian Industry Minister Aleksandr Rogozhnik participated in the negotiations. During the meetings the sides discussed matters concerning Belarus-Russia interaction in the manufacturing sector at length.

As many as 40 documents were signed as a result of the expo, including 24 commercial contracts and 16 strategic documents on cooperation (in shipments of products, components, organization of assembly enterprises, realization of investment projects, technical modernization, R&D cooperation, and other areas). The total sum of the 24 commercial contracts signed by the Industry Ministry system’s enterprises exceeded $251 million, which is way above the target. “All the enterprises of ours worked at the expo effectively,” Aleksandr Ogorodnikov stated. The top 3 Industry Ministry enterprises in terms of the sum of signed contracts are BelAZ, BMZ, and MAZ.

According to Aleksandr Ogorodnikov, the realization of the documents, which were signed during the expo, will contribute to deeper practical cooperation, to the dynamics of trade relations, and to support for manufacturing cooperation projects of leading Belarusian and Russian enterprises.

The international expo Innoprom 2023 took place in Yekaterinburg, Sverdlovsk Oblast, Russia on 10-13 July. It was the first time Belarus had participated in the expo as a partner country. It was the first time the Belarusian Industry Ministry had acted as the expo’s co-organizer.
