MINSK, 13 November (BelTA) – The Belarusian glass factory Neman will ship $300,000-400,000 worth of merchandise to Pakistan by the end of the year, BelTA learned from the company’s Director Igor Batyan after the Belarusian-Pakistani business and investment forum.
The Neman CEO said: “We have signed a contract just like the one we signed in Azerbaijan. That one is called Az-Neman, this one is called Pak-Neman. The Azerbaijani side pays in advance while the Pakistani side will defer payments. We have agreed that we will give them a respite of six months. They will arrange a warehouse to store initially $300,000-400,000 worth of merchandise. Later on we plan to raise the figure up to $1 million.” In his words, four containers will be shipped to Pakistan by the end of the year.
The Neman CEO said that the Pakistani market is a promising one. At present Czech glass dominates the market, yet Belarusian products can provide decent competition.
Plans have also been made to ship two containers with Neman glass products to Shanghai, China. However, the project still needs some work.
