MINSK, 20 March (BelTA) - Belarusian food producers signed contracts for $2 million at the AgriteQ exhibition in Qatar, BelTA learned from the Belinterexpo exhibition enterprise of the BelCCI.
The Made in Belarus exposition debuted at the the international food exhibition AgriteQ 2023 which was held in Doha from 15 to 19 March. The organizer of the Belarusian exposition and the exclusive representative of the international exhibition in Qatar was the Belinterexpo enterprise at the BelCCI. Assistance was provided by the Belarusian Embassy in Qatar.
During the exhibition, Minsk Dairy Plant No. 1 signed contracts to supply milk powder to Qatar, Kuwait and Oman. The total amount of contracts amounted to $2 million.
"Belarus. The Taste of Nature pavilion had many visitors, including from among the business community of Qatar. The Belarusian exposition had an honor to host the seventh Emir of Qatar Hamad bin Khalifa al-Thani and the sister of the ruling emir. The distinguished guests praised the quality of Belarusian products. It is worth noting that the pavilion aroused particular interest not only among the visitors of the exhibition, but also among the media of Qatar," Belinterexpo noted.
All in all, nine manufacturers of Belarus took part in the exhibition which brought together more than 670 exhibitors from 55 countries. Most popular foods at the Belarusian pavilion were natural birch sap without sugar, smoked quail eggs, cottage cheese bars and ice cream. The Belarusian producers also showcased their novelties. These included cheeses by Minsk Dairy Plant No. 1, products with whey by Glubokoye Milk Canning Plant, mould aged beef and baked brisket by Mogilev Meat Processing Plant, decorticated wheat and rye grain by Lidahleboprodukt bakery and dry mixtures for making ice cream by Slutsk Cheese-Making Plant.
Belarus’ economic and investment potential was presented at a conference held at the closing of the exhibition. Belarus’ presentation had a spotlight on the country’s food security and Belarusian companies.
