GRODNO, 17 February (BelTA) – The export of the resident companies of the Grodnoinvest Free Economic Zone increased by 8% to exceed $940 million in 2019, BelTA learned from the FEZ administration.
FEZ Grodnoinvest accounted for 42% of the total industrial export of Grodno Oblast. The FEZ Grodnoinvest had a foreign trade of over $1.5 billion, posting a surplus of more than $380 million.
The major sales markets were traditionally Russia, Ukraine and Poland. These countries accounted for 88% of the total FEZ Grodnoinvest exports. The FEZ Grodnoinvest exported products worth $177 million (19% of the total amount) to the EU countries. The major sales markets in the EU were Poland, Lithuania, Romania and Latvia.
Major contributors to the FEZ Grodnoinvest exports were woodworking and furniture companies (30% of the total export amount), foodstuff producers (27%), mechanical engineering and textile companies.
The producers of transport vehicles and hardware, rubber and plastics articles, foodstuff and furniture increased their exports significantly.
