MINSK, 5 December (BelTA) – A Belarusian group of technical experts is in Equatorial Guinea to study peculiarities of soils and climate with a view to advancing cooperation in agriculture, the Agriculture and Food Ministry told BelTA.
Representatives of the Belarusian Agriculture and Food Ministry told BelTA that the group arrived in Malabo, Equatorial Guinea as a result of agreements reached during a visit of Agriculture and Food Minister Sergei Bartosh to Equatorial Guinea. The group includes representatives of the Agriculture and Food Ministry, the Forestry Ministry, the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus (the Institute of Soil Science and Agrochemistry, the Institute of Plant Protection), the state institution Belarusian Machine Testing Station, and specialists of the companies Frandesa, Avgust-Bel, and Aftrade.
On the first day the group of technical experts visited a number of farming enterprises in the island part. They analyzed soils, crops, climate conditions, the necessary agricultural machines, fertilizers for crop farming, and crop protection agents.
Further studies will continue in the continental part.
