MINSK, 10 September (BelTA) - Belarusian experts intend to take an active part in the 79th General Meeting of the International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC) in Minsk, Yury Pashik, Secretary of Belarus’ National Committee in the IEC, Director of BELLIS, a certification body for IT, telecom, household and industrial electrotechnical products, told an online press conference hosted by the BelTA website.
"This is the first time a large number of participants from Belarus will attend the General Meeting. As of today, 135 delegates have been registered,” said Yuri Pashik. Most of them are technical experts, engineers, specialists of industrial enterprises. "Now they re preparing to take an active part in all activities and events of the General Meeting," he added.
Yury Pashik also noted that many IEC experts and managers visited Minsk for the first time. They were pleasantly surprised and happy that the 79th General Meeting will take place in such a comfortable, modern, and clean city.
He said that international experts want Belarus to receive the maximum benefits from hosting the IEC General Meeting: from cultural, social events and meetings of technical and administrative committees. "We have prepared really original program for social events, and selected two themes that are crucial for Belarus: energy efficiency and technical regulation using IEC tools to ensure the free movement of goods, particularly the Belarusian ones, to foreign markets,” said Yury Pashik.
